Pregnancy asks a great deal of you, and most of it happens quietly.
This six-week course is a space to slow down, turn inward, and deepen your relationship with a body that is changing week by week. Through slower, intentional movement, we’ll work with where you are right now — and prepare, gently, for what’s ahead.
Over six Saturday mornings we’ll explore:
Functional strength and mobility — supporting the areas that carry the most as pregnancy progresses, always at your own pace.
Breath — a steady, practical tool you can take with you into labour and long after it.
Pelvic floor awareness — learning to feel, soften and engage, rather than just being told to.
Positions for labour — shapes and movements that can support you through birth, practised often enough that your body remembers them.
Softness and rest — how relaxation and release help you work with physical sensation and tension rather than bracing against it.
Michelle trained in Pōneke at Awhi and lives here on the Kāpiti Coast with her two small boys. Yoga has been part of her life since she was a teenager, but becoming a mother asked new questions of it — and that’s exactly what she brings to this room. She teaches with curiosity and care, weaving in Te Ao Māori and yogic philosophy, and she has been where you are.
There’s something else this course gives you that isn’t on the timetable: five or six other women, on the same Saturday morning, at more or less the same stage. That tends to matter more than anyone expects.
The intention is simple. To help you become more aware of your body, more confident working with it, and more connected to yourself as you move through pregnancy and towards birth.
A safe, supportive space, thoughtfully designed for pregnancy.
