Yin yoga and sound healing come together to create this deeply relaxing and healing experience.

Georgina will guide you through 90-minutes of yin yoga focusing on restorative poses that are intended for you to receive the healing vibration of sound.  While in the poses Shanthi will use a wide range of healing sound instruments including singing bowls, koshi chimes and ocean drum along with her voice to guide you deeper into peace, relaxation and stillness.  The healing vibration of the sound will wash over you bringing clearing, balance and alignment.

Yin yoga focuses on floor poses which work into the deeper connective tissues of the body.  Poses are held for anywhere between 3 – 5 minutes to allow for an opening in the body, the perfect way to receive the sound vibrations.  Yin yoga invites us into stillness giving space for the mind and body to relax and release tension and stress.

Whether you are a regular to Georgina’s yin classes at the studio or looking to try something new, this evening will guide you through a journey into a sense of serenity.  Everyone is welcome.

Meet the teachers:

Georgina came to yoga following a major change in her life. After being introduced to meditation she found a calmness and awareness in her life that she had never experienced before and decided to leave her marketing career to follow this path. She has completed over 1,000 hours in yoga teacher trainings, and with her husband designed and built Azadi Retreat, a yoga retreat center in Bali. She has taught internationally with her Yoga School Inner Yoga Training but has been based in Wellington for the last couple of years where she is from. As well as an E-RYT200 qualified yoga teacher, Georgina is a certified Life Mastery Consultant and Mindfulness teacher and is passionate about helping people find their passion in life and live a life they truly love. Georgina brings a warm heart and openness to her teaching and loves introducing people to the benefits of mindfulness, meditation and yin yoga.

Shanti came to explore sound and healing when she had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the 1990s.  Sound, Vibration, Voice work and Energy healing were an essential part of her full recovery and she went on to study and train extensively in each of these areas.
