SUMMARY:XOCHIPILLI'S VISION: A Journey of Shamanic Sounds\, Sacred Drumming & Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Step into the sacred realm of Xochipilli (pronounced Zo-chee-pee-lee)\, the Mexican Prince of Flowers\, music\, art\, and visionary plants.\nClaudio Escutia of Xochipilli’s Eye warmly invites you to a deeply transformative gathering\, bridging the ancient wisdom of Mexico and Native American traditions right here in Aotearoa\, New Zealand.\nFollowing his inspiring pilgrimages back to Mexico City\, Claudio returns with a rich collection of new songs\, ancestral instruments\, stories\, and teachings. At the heart of this gathering sits a magnificent Pow Wow drum—a living\, breathing heartbeat that unites us. Together\, we will drum\, sing\, and connect through ancient call-and-response chants\, weaving a powerful\, resonant circle of sound. \nThe Journey\n• The Opening: We begin our evening with a clearing copal cleansing and opening ceremony\, will call upon the four directions with the sacred conch shell.\n• The Medicine: Enjoy a sacred\, prehispanic ceremonial drink (vegan and gluten-free) crafted to gently open your heart and awaken your senses.\n• The Sound makers:We will drum and sing together\, 8 people at the time can drum around the big drum and we all sing traditional chants to feel the power of drumming  and the beautiful ancient melodies.\n• The Soundscape: We will drift away on the vibrations of prehispanic flutes\, rattles\, rain sticks\, ocarinas\, shamanic drums\, and deep atmospheric sounds. Let the medicine of the music carry you inward\, whether you choose quiet stillness or free\, expressive movement.\n• The Integration: We complete our journey together with a profound\, restorative shamanic sound relaxation.\n• The discovery and learning: Claudio will shows us the different instruments in his set up and tell us about their characteristics \nDetails: 3-5pm\, Saturday\, 19th September 2026 \nInvestment\n• Early Bird (First 10 spots): $40\n• General Admission: $45\n• Children (Under 16): $20\nBook here >> \nWhat to Bring\n• Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and relax easily.\n• This is a family friendly event\, so everyone is welcome!\n• Bring an open heart and a curious mind\, ready to learn and receive.\n• You are warmly invited to bring a fresh fruit or flower to place on our collective altar.\n• Absolutely no prior musical or drumming experience is needed!
